Unique Systems Supershaft for Steam Turbines

Quality * Innovation * Engineering

***PRODUCT NEWS***

Unique Systems manufactures and ships parts for Elliott®, Terry®, Hayward-Tyler®, and Worthington® steam turbines worldwide, every day.  But it does not end there...  We are well known for our quality and technical innovation, and there is one part in particular we feel you should know about........... our incredible new "SUPERSHAFT" used mainly on turbine rotors.  It's an awesome product!
What is a SUPERSHAFT
The turbine rotor shaft, as supplied by all OEM turbine manufacturers today, is normally "hard chrome" plated on the diameter for the carbon ring assemblies.  The plating will typically start to deteriorate and give you trouble in about 2 to 4 years when, as a minimum, you must replace the carbon ring assemblies.  The SUPERSHAFT provides a whole new level of performance in this critical maintenance area.

FEATURE: Using a proprietary application process, the SUPERSHAFT is coated with an HVOF material that is so hard it must be finished with a diamond grinding wheel.  The finish is like a mirror!  It has no pores or microscopic holes (unlike a hard chrome finish, which has a hardness of about R/C 62) that will cause the carbon rings to "grind" away at the plating and wear or deteriorate both the rings and the shaft in the area of contact.
BENEFIT: The SUPERSHAFT will outlast any OEM rotor shaft 2:1 - and then some!  You no longer have to replace the carbon rings every 3-4 years, but rather 6-8 years.  It will take at least twice as long to wear down the SUPERSHAFT or the inside diameter of the carbon rings!

What does the superior performance of the SUPERSHAFT mean to you, the turbine owner?
  • Longer 'routine' maintenance intervals - lower overall 'cost of ownership'
  • Significantly improved reliability
Please contact us for additional information on the 'Unique" advantages the SUPERSHAFT can proive to your operation!
